Match Point · Last updated: May 10, 2026
Match Point ("we", "us", "the app") is a tennis matchmaking app that helps players find
other players, schedule matches, and chat. This policy explains what information we
collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
You provide directly
- Account info: email address (required), and either a password or a Google account if you sign in with Google.
- Profile info: first name, last name, profile photo, NTRP skill rating, and the latitude/longitude of your favorite tennis court (you place a pin on a map).
- Match and chat content: matches you create, accept, or decline; challenges you send; messages you send to other players.
- Safety actions: users you block; reports you submit about other users (including the reason and any details you write).
- Preferences: notification settings (which events trigger pushes) and discoverability (whether other players can find you on the map).
Collected automatically
- Push notification token: when you opt in to notifications, your device generates a token that we store so we can send you pushes (e.g. when a match is accepted).
- City: derived from the lat/lng you set for your favorite court (via reverse geocoding). We do not collect your real-time location.
- Server logs: standard request logs (timestamps, IP, user-agent) generated by our infrastructure provider for security and debugging. Retained for ~30 days.
2. How we use your information
- To create and authenticate your account.
- To show you nearby players and matches based on your favorite-court location.
- To facilitate scheduling, accepting, and chatting about matches.
- To deliver push notifications when something relevant happens (e.g. a match is accepted, a challenge is issued, a chat message is sent).
- To enforce blocks (preventing blocked users from seeing or contacting you) and to review reports for safety.
- To debug crashes and operational issues.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not run analytics on individual users.
3. Who we share information with
Other players
Your name, profile photo, NTRP rating, and favorite-court location are visible to other Match Point users so they can decide whether to play with you. You can hide yourself from discovery by toggling "Discoverable" off in Settings → Privacy.

Legal
We may disclose information if required by valid legal process (subpoena, court order) or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Match Point or its users.
4. How long we keep your data
- Profile and content data: kept while your account exists.
- Account deletion: when you delete your account in-app, everything associated with you — your profile, photo, push tokens, matches, conversations, messages, blocks, and any reports you submitted or that were submitted about you — is permanently deleted. Cascading deletes mean we cannot recover this data.
- Server logs: approximately 30 days.
5. Your choices and rights
In-app controls
- Edit your profile: change your name, photo, NTRP, or favorite court at any time in Settings.
- Hide from discovery: Settings → Privacy → toggle "Discoverable" off.
- Mute notifications: Settings → Notifications.
- Block another player: tap the "..." menu on their profile or in chat.
- Report another player: same menu, choose "Report".
- Delete your account: Settings → Delete Account.
Regional rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:
- EU/UK (GDPR): you can request access to your data, correction of inaccuracies, deletion, restriction of processing, and data portability. To exercise these rights, email idan.matchpoint@gmail.com.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): you can request to know what personal information we hold, request deletion, and opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising; we honor deletion requests via the in-app delete flow or by email.
The in-app delete flow is the fastest path for any of these rights. For requests we cannot honor in-app, email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
6. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on our service providers' encrypted infrastructure. Access to production data is restricted to operators with a need-to-know. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
Match Point is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that a user under 13 has created an account, we will delete that account and any associated data. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us information may contact us at idan.matchpoint@gmail.com.
8. International transfers
Our service providers may store data in regions outside your country (for example, the United States or the European Union). By using Match Point, you consent to your data being transferred to those regions, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, we will surface a notice in-app or by email before the change takes effect.
10. Contact
